Fool's Gold is a trinket added in the initial release of Fiend Folio.

Effects

• Grants approximately a 6.67% chance for the reward after clearing the room to be replaced with a Cursed Penny.
  • The chance for a reward to be replaced is affected by Isaac's luck reaching 100% chance at 14 luck, without any Trinket Multipliers.
• All Pennies have an approximately 20% chance to be replaced with Cursed Pennies.
  • The chance for coins to be replaced isn't affected by luck.
  • This can transform already seen Pennies and cannot be reverted.

Notes

• Fool's Gold is whitelisted to appear while playing as Golem, counting as a rock trinket.

Interactions

• Trinket Multipliers: Each additional trinket multiplier effect increases the chance to replace room clear rewards, reaching 100% chance without needing any luck upgrades with a multiplier of 4. Chance for random coin pickups to be replaced is capped at 50% with a multiplier of 2.
• Evil Sticker: Increases the chance for coin drops to be replaced with Cursed Pennies to 50%.
  • Evil Sticker + Trinket Multipliers: Trinket multipliers will not increase the chance further.
• Fiend / The Bastard: Fool's Gold takes priority over Fiend's and The Bastard's innate 5% chance to replace Coin drops with Cursed Pennies, and will not stack.
• Azurite Spindown: Using Azurite Spindown on Fool's Gold rerolls it into Fortune Worm.
